From the Office of the National Secretary General

Colleagues,

The new administration under President Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma, is now settled and at work, Polokwane has come and gone. The future beckons. We all need to be prepared to seize the opportunity to partner the new administration in delivering infrastructure throughout the country.Housing remains a major challenge, municipal services continue to create unrest in our villages.

We have the skills, the capacity and the will to intervene. Let's work. Our industry remains strong and resilient in these challenging economic times. We must use the strength of our industry to fast track TRANSFORMATION.The Construction Charter in its current form is weak and will not assist black business.

We need to lobby government even stronger for a state led Enterprise Development Programme and a more effective Preferential Procurement Legislative Regime. Our membership of BUSA (Business Unity South Africa) is an important tool we must use to lobby government.

Let's take our rightful place in BUSA.Our partners continue to support efforts for capacity building and this will certainly bear fruit in the success of member businesses.PPC in particular, have proved a great partner. The Élan Group is our respected Property Developer partner as so are many other industry players. To all of them, we are extremely grateful.
